Race Info - Overview

The 2012 Howth Triathlon is scheduled for July, 17, 2011. 

The Howth Triathlon includes two races; The Howth Olympic Plus and the Howth Sprint.

The Howth Olympic Plus event includes a 1.8 Km swim from Ireland’s Eye in Howth Sound to the mainland. The race continues with a 40 Km bike ride circumnavigating the Hill of Howth four times, through the picturesque village of Howth, over the hill and descends into Sutton before returning to Howth and concludes with a 10 Km run (2 x 5km laps), along the foreshore of Howth Village and finishes at the green on the West Pier.

The Howth Sprint includes a 750 m swim in the Howth Sound. The heart rates will rise as the athletes spin for a 20 km bike route (2x 10km laps) through Howth Village passing the centre piece of the village, The Church of the Assumption on their rights, ascending the hill past the summit and descending into Sutton the near by suburb and the race concludes with a 5 km run along the foreshore of Howth Village.

Entries are limited to a total of 600 competitors: 200 competitors Olympic Plus Distance and 400 competitors for the Howth Sprint Distance
